Abstract
The objective of this study was to examine the effect of political connections on market Political connection is a resource for banks. Political connected bank can get many advantages from the government. The objective of the research is to examine the effect of political connection on bank performance using GCG composite score as moderating variable in Indonesian Bank. This study used 34 banks as sample: 14 as political connected banks and 20 non political connected banks. The research period was 2015-2020. The result shows that political connections have no significant effect on bank performance, while composite score can not weaken the influent of political connection on bank performance. The implication of the result, show that political connected banks have a relatively high bank debt burden compared to banks that are not politically connected. As a result, politically connected banks worsen bank performance. Keywords: Bank Performance, Political Connections, and Composite Score
