Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity, operating capacity, size of the board of directors and independent commissioners on financial distress. The population in this study were all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the 2016-2020 period. The sample selection technique used purposive sampling and obtained 30 companies that experienced financial distress and 30 companies that were not financially distressed with two measurements for two consecutive years so that 120 samples were observed. The data analysis method in this study is logistic regression analysis using IBM SPSS 24 software. The results show that liquidity, operating capacity, and the size of the board of directors have a negative effect on financial distress. Meanwhile, independent commissioners have no influence on financial distress. Keywords: Liquidity, Operating Capacity, Board Size, Independent Commissioner, Financial Distress
