Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Good Corporate Governance and trade financing on sharia commercial banks' profitability with non-performing financing as an intervening variable. The subjects of this research are sharia banks in Indonesia. This study uses data collection methods using secondary data with the purposive sampling technique. Using a sample of 12 sharia commercial banks in Indonesia based on the 2015-2019 financial reports. The variables in this study consist of the dependent variable, namely profitability (which is proxied by Return On Assets) and the independent variable, namely good corporate governance (which is proxied by self-assessment), trade financing (which is proxied by murabahah), and non performing financing as Intervening variables. This study indicates that partially good corporate governance has a negative and insignificant effect on profitability (ROA). Murabahah financing partially has a positive insignificant effect on profitability (ROA). The sobel test results show that NPF cannot mediate Good Corporate Governance and Buy and Sell Financing (Murabahah) on sharia Commercial Banks' profitability.
