Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of leverage, sales growth, activity, institutional ownership, and managerial agency costs in predicting the possibility of financial distress in the consumer goods and industrial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2019. In this research, leverage is proxied by debt to assets ratio and activity is proxied by inventory turnover. Meanwhile, financial distress is proxied by Earning Per Share. The population of this study is the consumer goods and industrial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2019. The research sample used purposive sampling method and the study period was five consecutive years (2015-2019) with a total of 252 data samples. This research method uses logistic regression analysis. The results showed that leverage and managerial agency costs had a significant positive effect on financial distress. Meanwhile, sales growth, activities, and institutional ownership do not have a significant effect on financial distress.sales growth, activity ratio.
