Abstract
This study aims to determine the differences in financial performance before and after the acquisition . financial performance used in this study is the ratio of GPM , NPM , CR , ROA , ROE , DER , TATO , and EPS . The population in this study was all the companies listed on the stock exchange Indonesian. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Capital Market Directory ( ICMD ). The samples in this study using purposive sampling method, and obtained a sample of 19 companies in the period 2001-2010. Period used in this study were between the two years before and two years after acquisition. The analysis used to test the hypothesis of this research is Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of this study indicate that the acquirer 's financial performance as measured by Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin, Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, and Earning Per Share showed no significant difference between before and after acquisition. However the test results of the financial ratio Total Asset Turn Over showed significant difference between before and after acquisition Key words : Acquisitions, Financial Performance, and Financial Ratios
