Abstract
Bad credit or non – performing loans is one of the most important issues in the history of Indonesian Banking. Several factors that cause bad credit are internal and external factors. The external factor is the failure of the debtor’s business, the disaster for the debtor or the debtor’s business. This can happen because the system of giving credit to banks and the implementers is less thorough. The purpose of this study was to determine the procedure for handling problem loans. This study uses a telephone interview method with speakers from PT. Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Tengah Cabang Kuala – Kurun and secondary data methods, namely the source of data obtained by the author directly and indirectly, which generally in the form of evidence, notes or reports that have been arranged in archives published. This research is expected to be able to find a solution to the problem associated with the handling of problem loans. The results of the research in this Final Project are that the Non-Performing Credit Category is divided into 5, the Stages of Non-Performing Credit Handling Procedures are divided into 7 and How Banks Avoid Non-Performing Loans are divided into 4. The conclusions in this study are very useful for PT. Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Tengah Cabang Kuala – Kurun and prospective customers. Besides this research is also useful for readers.
