Abstract
This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the influence of Islamic governance on financial performance and Islamic maqashid index on Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The independent variable used is Islamic governance with sharia supervisory board indicators and the dependent variable is financial performance with Return On Asset indicators and sharia maqashid index with indicators of education, justice, and public interest. The sample used was 11 (eleven) Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia. Period used for 4 (four) years 2015-2018. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square approach (Smartpls version 3.0). The results of this study indicate that Islamic governance does not affect financial performance because it is seen from the data that there is a decrease in the number of members whose impact on performance will make the company's profitability decrease. Financial performance affects the maqasid sharia index because the better the sharia supervisory board performance based on the analysis obtained, the better the maqashid sharia performance increase.
