Abstract
Cash is a company asset that is very easy to convert with other types of assets. The increasing development of competition between companies causes companies to have a good management system in their companies, including in the company's cash management. Companies in Indonesia still have not made large amounts of cash storage, so they still experience problems in liquidity. Many things can be related to ineffective and optimal cash management, namely corporate governance and growth opportunity. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of corporate governance that is proxied by managerial ownership, institutional ownership, independent board of commissioners, board size, and growth opportunity variables on cash holding. The method of collecting samples in this study is a purposive sampling method with secondary data taken through the website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study uses a sample of manufacturing companies, with a final sample of 138 companies. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The results of this study describe that institutional ownership, independent board of commissioners, and board size affect the cash holding. Meanwhile, managerial ownership and growth opportunity do not affect the cash holding.
