Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial ratios to predict financial distress of foreign exchange banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2014 until 2017. This research uses financial distress as the temporary dependent variable for the independent variable used is the capital adequacy ratio (car), non performing loan (npl), operating costs against operating income (BOPO). The data analysis techniques tested began with descriptive analysis techniques, assessing fit models, likelihood functions, cox and snell's Rsquare and Negelkerke’s R Square, Hosmer and Lemeshow's Goodness of Fit Test, Clarification Table, and Hypothesis Testing. The results of this study indicate that the CAR variable affects the Financial Pressure, Capital Equation Ratio (CAR) is a capital ratio that shows the ability of banks to provide funds for business development needs and accommodate the risk of loss of funds caused by bank operations. The results of this study indicate that the NPL variable does not affect the Foreign Exchange Bank Financial Distress, because the NPL ratio has increased quite high, it will cause difficulties and also decrease the bank's soundness level, with the increase in NPL, the bank must provide such large reserves of receivables elimination. so the ability to provide credit is very limited. The results of this study indicate that the BOPO variable has an effect on Financial Distress, this is due to the small operating expenses and the increase in operating income. The results of this study indicate that the LDR variable does not affect the Financial Pressure of foreign exchange banks. Loan to Deposit Ratio is used to assess the liquidity of a bank by dividing the amount of credit given by the bank to Third Party Funds (TPF). Keywords : financial distress, Capital Adequation Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Loan, Operational Expenses and Operational Revenue, Loan to Deposit Ratio
