Abstract
This study aim to determine the effect of profitability, firm size, and business risk on capital structure in consumer goods company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2013 to 2017. Data analysis technique uses multiple linear analysis. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling with some predetermined criteria, 14 companies have been selected as samples. The research data is secondary data, obtained from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2013 to 2017. The results of the research shows that profitability has a positive and significant effect on capital structure, firm size and business risk has negative effect unsignificant on capital structure. The coefficient of determination of the regression model obtained is 0.521. This shows all independent variables 52,1 % affect to dependent variable and the rest of 47.9% is influenced by other variables that are not examined.
