Abstract
In the current globalization era, the society must have education or an understanding of financial management. Knowledge of finance and skills in managing personal finance are very important in daily life. The lack of financial literacy might cause an individual’s mistakes in managing personal financial management. In addition, the income and attitude of the society toward finance can also affect the behavior of the financial management of the society itself. Therefore, good financial literacy is needed. In addition, high income and also wise attitude toward finance will show more responsible financial behavior; in relation to the available funds in providing opportunities to act more responsibly. This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy, income, and attitude toward finance on family financial management in the area of Surabaya. This study uses questionnaires that were distributed to as many as 185 respondents. The research sampling applies convenience and purposive sampling methods aimed at families with a minimum income of IDR 4,000,000 per month. The research findings indicated that financial literacy, income, and attitude toward finance have a significant positive effect on family financial management.
