Abstract

This research aims to determine whether or not the effect of ROA, CAR, LDR, and NPL on NIM in banking sector companies in Indonesia and Malaysia. The sample used in this study are conventional commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia. The data used is secondary data, sample collection technique is purposive sampling and multiple linear regression analysis using the F test and t test. Using the study period from 2013 to 2017. The result of research in the Indonesian banking sector companies are ROA, LDR, and NPL have a positive effect on NIM. CAR has no effect on NIM. While the result of research in the Malaysian banking sector companies are CAR and LDR have a positive effect on NIM. ROA and NPL have no effect on NIM. On the other hand, the results of research in two countries combined that the NPL has a positive effect on NIM. LDR has a negative effect on NIM. ROA and CAR have no effect on NIM.
