Abstract
Along with the development of Islamic Banking is increasing rapidly, Bank Indonesia requesting Islamic Banking to improve efficiency in order to compete with Islamic Banks from other countries in ASEAN. The purpose of this research was to determine the efficiency of Islamic Bank in Indonesia in order to compete in the ASEAN Economic Community as well as to determine the efficiency measurement using Data Envelopmet Analysis (DEA). This study used a descriptive technical analysis using a quantitative approach. The variables used in this study are deposits, assets, and the cost of labor / personnel as input variables, as well as financing and operating income as output variables. The samples used were 11 Islamic Banks national scale are enrolled in Bank Indonesia which presents the annual financial statements in the period of observation is 2011-2013. The data used in this research is secondary data. The data analysis technique used is Envelopmet Data Analysis (DEA). The results of this study indicate that there are five Islamic Banks that meet the efficiency criteria which are Bank Bukopin Syariah, Bank Victoria Syariah, Bank Muamalat Syariah, Bank Mandiri Syariah and Bank Panin Syariah. While that is inefficient there are 4 banks, Bank Jabar Syariah, Bank BCA Syariah, Bank BNI Syariah and Bank BRI Syariah. In addition, the results of this study also indicate that there are two Islamic Banks that meet the growing efficiency, Bank Maybank and Bank Mega Syariah.
