Abstract
An investment refers to the commitment of funds at present, to get profit in future. There are a lot of investment avenues available today in the financial market for an investor. However, when investing, they find a few things to note such as financial literacy, education, and income. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of financial literacy, level of education, and the level of income on the choice of investment type. This study used purposive and convenience method. There were 105 respondents who put their funds in bank account and capital market in Sidoarjo region. Datas taken by questionnaire and survey method. To test the hypotheses, this study employed descriptive analysis, simple regression analysis, and ANOVA analysis. The results showthat financial literacy and level of education have significant impact on the choice of investment type, while level of income do not have significant impact on the choice of investment type. This means to invest in the capital market, the public should increase their financial literacy and education. Key words: Financial Literacy, investor’s demography, and investment type.
