Abstract
Dividend policy becomes very important by involving two parties, namely the management of the company and the shareholders, because it determines the placement of profits, which is between paying dividends to shareholders or reinvesting in the company. This study aims to examine the factors that influence the dividend payout ratio in the banking sector companies by using the variables namely total asset turnover, firm size, current ratio, and return on assets. The research method used was purposive sampling method based on the research criteria and data samples from 64 companies. The results showed that the total asset turnover variable had a positive effect on the dividend payout ratio, the return on asset variable had a negative effect on the dividend payout ratio, and the firm size and current ratio variables had no effect on the dividend payout ratio.
