Abstract
Household financial management bea major challenge for the people of Indonesia on Indonesian economic conditions uncertain as now. Have a less financial literacy and wrong money attitude tend to have an impact on household financial management. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of financial literacy and attitudes towards money on household financial management to conduct a comparative study between Java and Lampung ethnic. Ethnicity is also included in this research as the variables moderate the influence of the financial literacy and attitudes towards money on household financial management responsible. This study uses a survey by distributing questionnaires to 110 respondents who are ethnic Javanese families residing in the city of Surabaya and Lampung ethnic families residing in the city of Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, and sampling using convenience sampling by families with total income of at least Rp 3,000,000 per month. By using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis (MRA), the results showed that financial literacy and attitudes towards money has no significant effect on the behavior of household financial management and ethnic factors are not able to moderate the financial literacy and attitudes towards money on household financial management.
