Abstract
Nowadays, investment decision making is the most difficult thing for an investor. Therefore, investors need to analyze what investment will be taken. When investors face a difficult situation, there are several psychological factors that can influence their decision-making. This purpose of study is to examine the effect of overconfidence, mental accounting, and risk tolerance to family investment decision making in Surabaya. Sample of this study is a family living in the Surabaya area. This study used purposive sampling and convenience sampling. There are 112 respondents taken from questionnaire by survey method. To test hypothesis, this study employs descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. Moreover, by performing multiple regression analysis, this study found that overconfidence and risk tolerance have a significant positive effect on investment decision making, but mental accounting has no significant effect on investment decision making.
