Abstract
The lack of financial education in the family can lead to the emergence of various problems, such us wrong in the financial planning and unwise in making decisions. Lack of educationonfinancial knowledge informal educationthat isavailable to the publicis alsoone of the reasonswhymany familiesdo notdo financial planning. Educationabout financesonlystop atthe basic level, namelywiththe suggestion tosave money, butdid not proceedwithother skillsthat could support thefinancial decision. Therefore,educationaboutpersonalor familyfinancial knowledgeis neededin the family, so thatindividuals are wiser in makingfinancial decisionsmade towelfarein the family. This study determine the effectoffinancial knowledgeanddemographic factorson thefinancial planningdone in the family. This studyusing questionnairesdistributed to 255people as respondents. The Sample method usedby purposive samplingbased on thetotalincomefamiliesat least Rp4,000,000permonth. The results showed thatfinancial knowledgehas apositiveeffectandnot significant on thefinancial planning, levels of educationno significant effect on the familyfinancial planningand income levelsignificant effect onthe family financial planning.
