Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of the model RGEC (Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earnings, Capital) in predicting financial distress in the banking sector in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach. The sample used this study are Bank Non Devisa during the observation period of 2011-2013. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This study sample size is 66 banks in period of 2011-2013. The analysis technique used in this research is the logistic regression analysis, arguing that the dependent variable in this study consisted of a dummy variable. Financial Distress itself is a situation in which the banking sector is experiencing a phase of decline in financial condition that occurs prior to the bankruptcy or liquidation. Financial distress is a signal to internal and external parties of an Integration, for it is in this study used the signaling theory as the theoretical basis. The data used is secondary data obtained from the website of each bank belonging to the Non-Foreign Exchange Bank. The results of this study for analysis of the study showed factors Risk assessed through variable Non Performing Loan (NPL) no significant influence and a variable loan to deposit ratio (LDR) significantly, factors Good Corporate Governance (GCG) did not significantly, factors Earnings were assessed through variable Return On Assets (ROA) did not significantly and Net Interest Margin (NIM) significantly and Capital factors are assessed through the variable Capital Adequacy Ratio was not significant.
