Abstract
This study aims to investigate the influence of independent variables on the dependent variable. The independent variables used are the characteristics of a company that is composed of firm size, the structure of assets, growth of assets, profitability and liquidity while the dependent variable is capital structure. The method used is simple random sampling and obtained a sample of 44 company property and real estate in 2011-2014. Data were analyzed to test the Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help WarpPLS software version 5.0. Based on the results of this study concluded that the characteristics of the company consisting of firm size, the structure of assets, growth of assets, profitability and liquidity influence on the capital structure. Limitations of this study is the result of Adjusted R - Square test was 21.9 %, which means that this research has a level of influence that is still relatively weak. Keywords: Characteristics Company, Capital Structure, Trade - Off Theory and Pecking Order Theory.
