Abstract
The economic crisis is an event where many companies went bankrupt and could affect other sectors. Continued decline in world oil prices led many companies suffered losses, so some companies do layoffs in order to sustain the company. To that end, each company will always improve its performance in order to sustain the company and to obtain optimal results with the way through the implementation of good corporate governance. Measures of success the company's activities can be seen from the performance of the company. The firm size is one indicator that is commonly used by investors in assessing performance. This study aimed to examine the effect of good corporate governance and firm size on firm performance of mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2015. The method of sample determination are used in this research is purposive sampling method and obtained a sample of 70 financial statements. The method of testing the hypothesis in this study is the multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that board size, institutional ownership and firm size do not affect the firm performance. From this study, only board size is significant negative effect on firm performance. Key words : Board Size, Managerial Ownership, Institusional Ownership, Firm Size and Firm Performance.
