Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze improvement of competitive advantage based on Knowledge Management (KM) through Intellectual Capital (IC) and innovation at Surabaya Plaza Hotel. This study is a qualitative research with case study approach. The interviews were conducted with the General Manager, the Resident Manager, eight Department Heads, the Employee of The Month (EOM), the Employee of The Year (EOY), and the Supervisor of The Quarter (SOQ). This qualitative research used interviews and observation, and the reliability of this research was checked by using triangulation technique. The results conclude that intangible asset is much more important than tangible asset in the hotel and that it is possible to evaluate Intellectual Capital, innovation as well as Knowledge Management with business performance. The synergy of Knowledge Management, Intellectual Capital and innovation which is aligned with business strategy has produced a competitive advantage.
