Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of institutional ownership, free cash flow, the company's growth, profitability and asset structure of the debt policy on manufacturing companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange with the time period 2009-2012. The number of samples collected from the Indonesia Stock Exchange as many as 152 companies. Researchers using purposive sampling technique sampling and get 96 companies as the study sample. This study uses multiple regression analysis. The results of this study using the t test that free cash flow and growth is positive but not significant effect on debt policy, to the structure of assets have a negative effect but not significant, while institutional ownership and profitability and a significant negative effect on debt policy. Results of studies simultaneously using the F test, indicating that institutional ownership, free cash flow, the company's growth, profitability and asset structure simultaneously significant effect on debt policy.
