Abstract
This study aims to determine significant of the difference in the financial performance of conventional banks and syariah banks by using financial ratio, Capital Adequency Ratio, Non peforming Loan, Return on Assets, Return on Equity, Operating Expenses to Operating Income, and Loan to Deposit Ratio. Samples taken from bank Indonesia over the internet or online. Number of samples for conventional bank are 15, while for syariah bank there are 7 bank. Period time of research are 2010-2012. Hypothesis test used test difference independent sample t-test. Data in this research is secondary data a like financial report on publication of bank’s that exposed on Indonesia Bank’s website. The results of this study showed a significant difference in the financial performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks with NPL, ROA, BOPO, and LDR ratios. And no significant difference in the financial performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks with CAR and ROE ratios. Keywords : Financial Performance, Conventional Banks, and Syariah banks
