Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability, sales growth, and good corporate governance on financial distress in property and real estate sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Good corporate governance in this study is proxied by independent commissioners, audit committees, institutional ownership, and managerial ownership. The data used are secondary data in the form of company financial statements for the 2021–2024 period obtained from the official IDX website. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 67 companies as samples, resulting in 268 observations. The data analysis method employed was binary logistic regression. The results show that profitability, sales growth, and institutional ownership significantly influence financial distress, while independent commissioners, audit committees, and managerial ownership have no effect on financial distress. This study is expected to provide insights for companies and investors in understanding factors that influence the risk of financial distress. Keywords: profitability, sales growth, good corporate governance, financial distress, property and real estate.
