Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline and job satisfaction on employee performance, and examine the role of work engagement as a mediating variable at the Sukomanunggal Community Health Center in Surabaya City. The decline in employee performance during the 2022–2024 period raises the urgency to identify factors that influence employee productivity. This study used a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. Data were collected through questionnaires from the entire employee population at both community health centers. The results showed that work discipline and job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on employee work engagement and performance. In addition, work engagement was shown to significantly mediate the relationship between work discipline and job satisfaction on employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of creating a work environment that supports employee emotional, physical, and cognitive engagement to improve health service performance at the community health center level. Keywords : Work Discipline, Job Satisfaction, Work Engagement, Employee Performance, Community Health Center
