Abstract
Quality is an important element for manufacturing companies to produce some goods can be accepted by customer. A product have certain quality if the product can give what customers need and in accordance with their design. So that the company need a focus on performance of design and process quality management to improve product quality. Thus this study aims to examine the impact of product design performance and process quality management on internal and external quality products. The samples are manufacturing companies listed in IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) at Sidoarjo, Surabaya and Gresik. The unit of analysis are Production, Quality, Marketing, and Finance Manager with 31 respondents. Test equipment in this study is multiple linear regression. The results indicate that both of product design performance and process quality management have an significant impact on internal quality of the product. Process Management Quality have a significant impact on external quality products. But the product design performance impact was not significant on external quality products. According to Ahire and Dreyfus (2000) it caused product design performance can give directly and indirectly impact on external quality products. External quality products can be affected indirectly by the contribution of the internal quality product.
