Abstract

Acquisition is a process in which one company acquires or takes over the ownership of shares or assets of another company. This study aims to compare liquidity, stock price, financial performance, and stock returns between one years before and one years after the company made an acquisition. The indicators used in this study are current ratio (CR), earnings per share (EPS), return on assets (ROA), and stock return (Ri). The research method used is a qualitative research method with secondary data obtained from the company's annual financial report and news related to the company's condition, namely stock returns, net profit, financial performance and stock prices. The population in this study were companies that made acquisitions for the 2019 period in the raw goods sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, so 4 samples were obtained, namely PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk, PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, PT Tunas Alfin Tbk. This research data was analyzed using source triangulation techniques. The results of this study state that the current ratio (CR), earnings per share (EPS), return on assets (ROA), and stock return (Ri) have good and bad difference between before and after the acquisition.
