Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effect of macroeconomic indicators on the composite stock price index. Stock price movements are influenced by several factors, one of which is economic growth, inflation rate, and interest rate. The population in this study includes countries in Asia that have stock market. The sample used in this study is composite stock price index in each countries period first quarter in 2020 to second quarter in 2022 (1Q20-2Q22). The statistical method used is multiple linear regression. The result of this study explain that economic growth has no significant effect either in emerging market or advanced economies. Second, inflation rate has a significant negative effect in emerging market and advanced economies. Third, interest rate has no significant effect in advanced economies. However, it has positive significant effect in emerging market.
